Slacking, But Not For Long

I love FridayFictioneers. I look forward to the new picture prompt each week. I really had planned to write one this week, but as most of us know, life sometimes gets in the way.

My husband, a paraplegic, has been hospitalized most of 2012. First pneumonia, then pulmonary edema, and now a huge, dangerous bedsore that's promised to hospitalize him for at least two months. The initial prognosis was not good, (doctor reminded us that Christopher Reeves died from a bedsore) however, he seems to have improved quite a bit this past week. A few days ago, he was moved to a long-term facility for treatment.

However, while my writing has taken a back seat, it has not halted completely. I have managed to mail off a couple of stories. And I hope to have two novels ready enough to pitch to agents at the Annual Ozark Romance Authors Conference in June. So now you have it - the reason I've been slacking on the Friday Fiction lately. But I'll be back soon. I LOVE Friday Fictioneers.

  1. Hi Shirley,
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. You both are in my prayers. I'm glad you've had a little time to keep writing. Two novels to pitch at the upcoming conference will be wonderful. The agents are bound to ask for more. God Bless.

  2. First, I'm so happy to hear that Rick is improving. You and he have been on my mind a LOT lately, eventhough I'm away as you know.

Secondly, I LOVE Friday Fictioneers, too, and have missed the past two Fridays. Such withdrawal! :( Let's hope we both get back to a writing routine very soon.

I must buckle down in May on my novels as well. You push me and I'll push you! Not that you need it but I do...

  5. Hi. Sorry about your husband. Just found this site. I enjoy your stories! I'm sorry, also to hear about the other concern you posted about somewhere else. I hope it works out well for you--as I had similar problems with that entity. Some were resolved. Another not.
